Spring is in the air and fruit is plumping on the vine, in the garden and the orchard. It’s time to start thinking how you want to preserve that bounty this year. How about pie fillings, freezer jams and for a special treat, a truly decadent chocolate sundae sauce?
Join UCCE Master Food Preservers of Amador/Calaveras County as they demonstrate in detail using your spring fruits to create beautiful pie fillings with ClearJel as a thickener, quick and easy freezer jams with fresh from the orchard taste and delectable sauces to top almost anything! The canning process will be demonstrated using atmospheric steam and boiling water canners. Leave this class inspired and with several research-based, scientifically tested recipes to try at home.
