Creating Successful Partnerships with Native American Tribes
Workshop and Tour

May 9-10, 2017
Pala, CA

Join us for a 2-day workshop designed to increase your knowledge and capacity as UCCE personnel to develop successful partnerships with Native American Tribes.

Objective: Through panel presentations and small group discussions with speakers, including tribal members, participants will deepen their knowledge of California tribal history and Tribal sovereignty, as well as Traditional Ecological Knowledge. Native speakers will share their experiences collaborating with non-tribal entities, and reflect on best practices for building collaborative partnerships. Small group discussion topics will be tailored to participant interests and will broadly cover youth programs, food systems and health, and natural resource management.

Who should attend: This is a professional development opportunity for UC ANR Cooperative Extension Academics and Programmatic Staff.
