Biography

Elizabeth Bezark has academic and professional backgrounds in community development and intercultural education. She has a BS in International Studies (Honors) with an emphasis in sustainable community development. Before arriving at ANR, she worked with a global education nonprofit focused on standards development, accreditation, and professional development. There, she assisted to develop standards for increased reciprocity in global and domestic community partnerships. She started and led a committee of global educators to develop resources for improved ethics in global community-based partnerships.

Directly prior to the pandemic, Elizabeth worked in the Peruvian Andes for a sustainable tourism and women’s empowerment non-profit as a Service Learning Coordinator. Starting with ANR's Business Operations Center in February 2023 through UCD TES, Elizabeth enjoys providing project assistance, graphic designs, and customer service support to the unit.

California agriculture played a significant role in Elizabeth’s upbringing. Her father worked with CDFA's IPM department for 35 years as a career entomologist, and she grew up going to the orchards in Live Oak where her maternal grandmother grew up. Elizabeth is thrilled to have found ANR. Landing here simultaneously feels like coming home and like fertile ground to plant seeds for a meaningful and impactful career. She plans to apply for and hopes to land permanent employment here.
