Fresh, crisp, apples right off the tree. You don't really have to travel to Oak Glen to get them. This week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners, MG David Letourneau will dispel all rumors you may have heard that apples can't be grown successfully in the flatlands of Southern California.
That's a fantasy! David will talk with Tom Spellman of Dave Wilson Nursery about the FACTS. There are many varieties that grow quite well here. The key is “chill hours”. Learn what that means by tuning in. This is the time of year to plant. Happy growing!
