I am soliciting nominations for the Western Extension Directors Association Awards of Excellence. The purpose of the Western Extension Directors Association (WEDA) Awards of Excellence is to recognize Cooperative Extension outreach education programming that has achieved outstanding accomplishments, results and impacts in addressing contemporary issues in one or more of the 13 Western states and territories. It is anticipated that recipients of the award will include mature programs with documented impacts.
The WEDA Awards of Excellence may be given annually to recognize up to three programs (state and multistate combined) that represent the work of an individual or multidisciplinary team within a single or multistate setting....
In 2011, UC ANR created the Taxonomy and Personnel System (TPS) to inventory and report the collective expertise within the Division. You may wonder, “Who else works in urban agriculture, or in livestock and dairy, or in community development, or with watersheds, or with beneficial insects, etc.?” With the Taxonomy system, you can click on any such category, and many more, to get a list of names and/or display them on a GIS map!

Nominations are being accepted for the ANR Distinguished Service Awards, which are sponsored by ANR and Academic Assembly Council. ANR academics and staff are invited to nominate their colleagues or themselves for outstanding achievement.
The ANR Distinguished Service Awards recognize service and academic excellence in UC Cooperative Extension over a significant period of time. The awards highlight the use of innovative methods and the integration of research, extension and leadership.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize and reward outstanding accomplishments in six areas:

ANR is seeking a leader for the Sustainable Natural Ecosystems Strategic Initiative. In this role, the individual will provide leadership for the initiative including:
- working with the initiative panel members in revisiting and revising the Sustainable Natural Ecosystems (SNE) Initiative’s strategic plan
- shepherding the ANR Competitive Grants process
- planning and conducting Strategic Initiative Conferences
