Lynn,
I ran across the link above from the University of Wyoming Weed Control Freaks that ties to the Nature papers. In his post, Andrew K mostly takes issue with the use of the term "superweeds". This is also one of my pet peaves and I enjoyed his tongue-in-cheek bashing of the term).

I concur with 'superweeds' being a misnomer. It certainly hasn't helped the GMO debate.

I'll also point out that I saw one of the chemical companies referring to some weeds as being 'high anxiety weeds,' although I am not sure that they specifically were referring to herbicide-resistance, per se.
