I have caught Frits up here in the foothill/Grass Valley/Nevada City area, but not Gulf Frits. Do you or does Art know if they're up here?

According to butterfly expert Art Shapiro, professor of evolution and ecology at UC Davis: "I have no records from there, but that doesn't mean they don't. They ARE in the Placerville area now."

I’m in Missouri City, Texas and this is the first year that I’ve had the caterpillars to nearly destroy my passion flower vine! I love butterflies, but when they’re destructive I’m at a crossroads as to what I should do!
Do I allow the caterpillars to continue to live off the beauty of my plant or do I spray and get rid of them? My plant was 6’ tall and 4’ wide with tons of flowers and unopened buds. Now it's nothing but spindly vines at the top with half eaten leaves in the middle.
What do I do to solve my dilemma?' Is it my plant or the caterpillars that must go?
