Mitigating responses to drought for growers and ranchers is much talked about today especially since Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency in California. In an effort to address drought related issues, the Sierra Foothill REC will be hosting a forum and webcast Wednesday, January 29, 2014 on mitigation measures and managing risk during the drought. The UC ANR California Institute of Water, in cooperation with the Department of Water Resources, is also helping to sponsor this important event. Attendance is open to everyone with a minimal contribution requested to cover the cost of lunch. Register here – there are still slots available! This event will also be webcast and recorded for those unable to attend in person.
In addition, UC ANR's California Institute for Water Resources has been compiling resources and up-to-date information. Be sure to check Drought Information and especially the linked Twitter feeds using hashtag #drought. Consider joining the conversation so we can help each other.
