Please join me in welcoming our new office assistant, Diego Mariscal. You can reach him at Diego.Mariscal@sonoma-county.org. He will be assisting the other advisors as well as 4-h. His hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:00. I asked him to introduce himself.
“My name is Diego Mariscal, I will be working with the UCCE and the 4-H programs.
I am a UC Davis graduate and have been working in the private sector since my graduation in 2009. My previous job consisted of running a soccer program and I currently coach a youth soccer team. I am an avid sports fan and soccer player. I love working with the youth and guiding them through obstacles. I believe sports and activities are a great way to instill life lessons and build character.
I look forward to working with all the 4-H groups and help grow the programs as we reach more community members. Thank you, Diego”
Countywide Dog Care and Training
This project is open to 4-Hers of all ages enrolled in the county wide project. The project will mainly focus on dog showmanship and obedience practice to allow members to be ready to compete in the show ring. An emphasis will be placed on health and care for dogs as well.
Members (or immediate family) must own the dog that will be used for meetings and shows. Dogs that attend meetings must be at least four months of age or older and be up to date on all vaccinations.
Please bring a current vaccination record showing that your dog has had vaccines for DHLPP series (mandatory), Rabies (mandatory), and Bordatella (highly recommended).
All dogs are welcome (after proof of vaccination). Your dog does not need to be purebred to attend or compete! Dogs should be well socialized and not show aggression towards other dogs or humans.
The first meeting will be Sunday, September 14th at 1:00PM at the 4-H Center in Rohnert Park. Meeting dates for the rest of the year will be given out at the first meeting.
Contact Dani Foster for more information: (707) 360-7107 or email foster4h@yahoo.com.
There is a list attached of which clubs have turned in their CQ banners and which clubs have not. Please check it and if you have not done so, please get them to the office ASAP. Thank you!
Interested in the twistee-tie Community Service project? Want to know more? Send me an email. I need 8 clubs.

Greetings,
There is a new tab on the County Website labeled “Insurance.” All club leaders and project leaders need to register their meeting time and place whether or not you need insurance. It only takes a few minutes. Thank you! Judy

Hi!
I am interested in volunteering as a 4-H project leader in the Cotati/Rohnert Park/Penngrove/Sebastopol area of Sonoma County. I retired a year and a half ago from a career as a children's librarian and am finding that I miss working with young people. Many of my home arts skills began in 4-H in Sonoma County in the early 1970's and I believe that it is time for me to give back some of what I received.
I earned a BA in Home Economics from Cal State Los Angeles in the 1980's. I would be quite comfortable leading most any of the home arts projects -- clothing/sewing, quilting, fiber arts (I do handspinning and weaving as well as knitting), cooking, baking (bread baking is a favorite hobby)-- and if there was interest in a related area that I am not familiar with I could certainly learn something new!
I am hoping that you might pass my contact information along to any club that might have need of my skills. I am looking forward to becoming active with 4-H again soon.
Sincerely,
Carla Schoenthal
