Sinclair Family Farm hosted a stop on the Placer Grown Farm & Barn Tour on Sunday, October 12th from 1pm to 5pm. At this event, which was open to the public, 4-H members were able to educate the community about the 4-H Program, and in particular small and large animal projects offered in 4-H. Youth were able to build their public speaking and leadership skills by sharing their animals with the public through hourly demonstrations and by fielding questions.
In addition to the 4-H program being present at the Sinclair Family Farm, FFA, Placer-Nevada Cattlewomen, Gold Country Sheep Producers, Karthauser Family Genetics Show Pigs, and additional Placer County businesses were in attendance. The public was able to watch sheep shearing, sheep dog demonstrations, care and handling of beef cattle, nursing of goats, rabbit and guinea pig demonstrations, and much more.
The event was a wonderful opportunity for community, agriculture, and education to come together and be shared with all. The 4-H program greatly enjoys the opportunity to form partnerships within Placer County, and the 4-H youth greatly benefited from the opportunity to be a part of the partnership between Sinclair Family Farm and Placer Grown Farm and Barn Tour.
