Placer County 4-H is excited to announce the formation of a new Countywide Sheep Coordinator Group, led by Karin Sinclair and Tina Pourfathi of Sinclair Family Farm and Sinclair Concrete. Karin and Tina will not only be partnering with Placer County 4-H, but also with local FFA High School Programs at Placer High, Del Oro High, and Lincoln High. In conjunction with these partnerships, the new group will incorporate businesses, farms, and ranches within Placer County into its work.
The planning process has begun for two field days to occur in 2015. These field days will give youth the opportunity to have hands-on learning in agriculture with an emphasis on sheep. During the field days, youth will be able to learn practical knowledge that may be utilized at the Placer County Fairs, as well as receiving education in managing and maintaining a farm or ag-related business.
The time to support youth in agriculture is now. Placer County 4-H is incredibly excited for the development of the Countywide Sheep Coordinator Group. This group will guide youth and help them be the next generation of leaders for Placer County, the foothills, and beyond in agriculture and more! The first meeting of the Coordinator Group will be on November 8th at 10:00 am at 7375 Callison Road Penryn, CA. If you are interested in being a part of the Coordinator Group, or just want to get more information, please come by.
