Very nice article Christine, in terms of the bee observation tools, what type of binoculars will you suggest. I know you've mentioned that the binoculars should be close focus. Could you maybe check out this article (https://www.pointoptics.com/best-binoculars/) and tell me whether the Bushnell Trophy Xtreme is a good option for me. I appreciate your help. Thanks!

John,
Glad the article was helpful. In terms of binoculars for bee watching, I don't think the ones you've mentioned will be focus closely enough. This is what I purchased for use in the Haven:https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007TSYCA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

If you use the search term 'papilio' you should find close-focusing binoculars designed for insect observation. That said, I found using binoculars a ineffective way to observe bees, as it was too difficult to follow them. Once you know what you're looking for, observation by eye can be effective. Of course, your experience may be different.
