On Saturday, May 18th, Placer County 4-H held its first Swine Field Day at the Gold Country Fairgrounds. Kristy Vandenhoff, Placer County 4-H Intern, in conjunction with the Karthauser Family of Miners Ravine 4-H Club gave 4-H youth throughout the foothills practical information delivered through hands-on workshops on selection of market hogs, showmanship, as well as feed and nutrition. 4-H families from all over the foothills gathered to learn about swine. Placer County 4-H is excited to continue to expand field day opportunities for youth. To aid in delivering positive youth development through agricultural experiences and beyond.
