The poor access students have to engaging and relevant courses in science, technology, engineering and math in the U.S. is directly affecting their interest in STEM careers.
One of the hallmarks of 4-H programs is hands-on learning. 4-H'ers have the opportunity to learn by doing, gaining practical experience in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Research has shown that experiential learning is more effective than traditional classroom lectures at sparking youth excitement and interest in STEM.
4-H recently participated in the Mediaplanet's STEM Education (http://www.educationandcareernews.com/stem/bridging-the-stem-attraction-gap-infographic)campaign in which the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) industries unite to raise awareness about the benefits of STEM education and the importance of inspiring our youth to pursue a career in these fields.
I'm wondering if you might be able to help me find a few folks to help with milking a goat for a month. I'm going away from 7/7-8/7. We have one lovely milking doe, and my hubby doesn't want to milk twice a day. I'm hoping to find a few 4Hrs who would be interested in the experience.
Let me know if you have anyone in mind.
Thanks, Liz Levy
