A great post, Nikolai. With excellent photos well composed. And kudos to Janine Hasey. She is a Pro of long standing.

Nikolai, I have a large collection of SFREC photos, and a correspondingly large collection of documents related to the origin, development, and research history of the "Sierra Field Station". I recall that you are familiar with some of my writings.

At age 85, with related diminishing capabilities, I am concerned about where these records will end up. Hopefully, not in a dumpster.

It seems reasonable that they should become the property of the Station, suitably housed so as to make them available to others.

Further, it also seems reasonable that these collections should be managed by a knowledgeable steward.

If you have comments on what I have written, let's discuss it further, by email and/or "snail-mail". I no longer drive, except in town in Woodland and Davis, and Hiwy 113 between the two. Also, I have health issues that compel me to deal with issues like this while I am able.

Looking forward to hearing from you, Charlie
