Hi…later this week I will travel to San Diego to attend the 2015 State Leader's Conference. I am putting together a basket for their Silent Auction (aka cleaning out the warehouse!) If anyone or club would like to contribute something, please get it to me this week, or I could pick it up. Something like a jar of Sonoma county jam or a bottle of local wine, or dried apples, or…? Thank you. I will be returning on the 11th, so no Monday blog next week on the 9th. ~Judy

From I&R:
Please check out the Golden Clover award on the state website http://4h.ucanr.edu/Resources/Members/Scholarships_-_Awards/Scholarships_-_Awards/GoldenClover/ and start thinking about people and projects that you may be interested in nominating! The sooner we get started, the more opportunities for recognition of our outstanding members from Sonoma County!
Also,
I&R wants to encourage eligible youth to consider Diamond Clover award applications

Also Emerald Star projects.. Again...start early! http://cesonoma.ucanr.edu/Youth_Development/For_Youth/Emerald_Star_Program/
Reminder that the treasurer award, editor and secretary award sheets are posted and that officers should be looking at these with their adult advisors throughout the year to be sure they are on track.
SHEEP DOG TRIALS
We are getting closer and closer to the Hopland Sheepdog Trials on November 14th and 15th and I would love it if we could have some representatives of 4H/sheep projects join us over the weekend. It would be great to have some exhibits and displays up in the barn – particularly through the middle of the day (11am-2pm) during the public hours. I have extended this to Lake and Mendocino County, but would love to hear from Sonoma too!Could you extend our invitation to any 4Hers you think might be interested?
Many thanks!

Happy November ya'll!
Remember that this month, the 4-H All Stars are planning an event you won't want to miss. I urge you to bring your cowboy hats and cowbells for Achievement Night is right around the corner!
The All Stars and I have been working really hard to put on an event you won't forget! In case you haven't saved the date, Achievement Night will take place on November 14th, 7:00 PM at the 4-H Center in Rohnert Park. There are two contests going on, the cowboy cookie contest (2 entries per club) and the best dressed cowboy/cowgirl. There are also going to be games after the program and time set aside for clubs to socialize. We are looking for an ENTHUSIASTIC group and plan to have a sizable attendance from the 25 clubs in our county. We look forward to seeing you all there,
