We have the same problem with strong winds whipping young lettuce plants around in the Coachella Valley, usually a problem right around thinning. I like the diagnostic information provided!

I have a question regaurding the wind whip that occurs during high wind speeds. I was wondering, roughly, how many miles per hour does the wind have to get to in order to see even the slightest trace of wind whip as shown in Figure 9.
