This low maintenance and super drought tolerant garden in central Vallejo was featured in the May Vallejo Garden Tour, but to me, it looks like it was plucked out of Tempe, Arizona.
How smart these homeowners were to design a garden so complimentary to the style of their home with its white stucco and red tile roof. An interior courtyard is home to more thirsty plants, near the front door, easier to keep an eye on. The balance of the front yard is a sculptural cacti and succulent display. This beautiful result is not only super low on water needs, the owners scored many of the decorative rocks and cacti from budget-friendly Craig's list. The owner's have a pleasing design eye and have created many sculptural vignettes drawing your eye to many dramatic groupings.
Hope you enjoy these photos.
