Very interesting to see pomegranate being grown in California, and that 95% from this state. Large sized fruits are grown in dry places like Kabul in Afghanistan. and In south India it is only small fruit crops are growing.

I recently purchased three Pomegranate plants which are approximately 20 inches tall. I purchased them from my local Home Depot so of course the nursery staff had no idea what variety they were. Two plants appear to have the same shade of light green but the third plant has a much darker green. I there any way to determine from the leaf or will I have to wait until they fruit? I live in Southern California about 10 miles from the ocean.
