P. tentaculata is one of a number of soil-borne Phytophthora spp. affecting restoration nurseries and project sites around California. In the absence of regulations, voluntary sanitation BMPs offer the best solution to keeping these pathogens from spreading and impacting sensitive habitats. More information is available through the Working Group for Phytophthoras in Native Habitats at www.calphytos.org.
