I saw a pair of mating Viceroys in a meadow in Norwich, VT, and had the opportunity to explain the difference between Viceroys and Monarchs to a bench full of soccer players with their backs to the meadow. They agreed that if they were a bird, they would avoid Viceroys because of their fear of the milkweed-taste.
