Pendmethalin is recommended for dry-seeded rice as pre-emergence treatment in India. Several farmers are using Pendimethalin for dry-seeded rice in several states of India (e.g. Karnataka, India). It is very effective, if adequate soil moisture is there at the time of its application a day after dry-seeding rice.

Thank you for the information. I was unaware that pendimethalin was widely used in India. We don't use much of it here in CA rice, as our dry-seeded acreage is limited. We are trying to get our growers to think of it as an option to use together with rotation to a dry-seeded system, instead of just using a continuously flooded system, year after year.
