What's new with the Web Action Team

If you have interacted with the UC ANR homepage recently, you'll have noticed it has undergone a major renovation. Designed to address the evolving needs of UC ANR today and in the future, our new initiative provides the ANR team with the tools to communicate with our audiences in efficient and compelling ways.

The UC ANR homepage is just the start, though. We are working to make the new designs and functionality available to the entire ANR community. It is a complicated process, to ensure that our old sites can make the transition successfully without any interruptions or errors. We do have, however, a few sites that have already made the change and are publicly available to check out.

If you are eager for your UC ANR site to adopt the new look, make sure to register on SiteBuilder. Or contact us directly at help@ucanr.edu. We are eager to work with you!

To register your site for adoption of the new designs:

Log in through the Portal
Click 'Edit' next to the site you're interested in upgrading
Click 'Sign Me Up' under the message about 'New Site Builder Designs Early Adoption'

I am the (sole) volunteer who maintains the Sacramento County Master Gardener web site, which has about 150 pages. Is there a timeframe associated with this transition?

Hi Jan,
Follow the instructions in this post to sign up for the new designs and I will contact you this week. The turnaround on the transition is pretty fast (0-2 days).

The new design looks good. Is the new design available when creating a new site?

Will, great idea. I think the new design should be automatic when someone creates a new site. Don't you? I think I'll set that up this week.

Thanks Jonathan. I was just wondering if there is a deadline when all sites must conform to the new look? Being a volunteer, I can't make changes to the site without approval from our coordinator.

No, there is not a deadline.

Jon, I agree completely, the new site design should be automatic when creating a new site. No point in creating a site then having to convert it later to the new look. Look forward to when that is available!
