I love this effort; this needs to change quickly to reduce carbon in the atmosphere and reduce the extremity of climate change. The thing I am worried about is, how do we make this message consistent across UC ANR? Right now a lot of IPM practices, and a lot of the things suggested in the Pest Management Guidelines, say the opposite. There is a lot of pest management information suggesting that organic matter needs to be cultivated into the soil and allowed to completely decompose before crops are planted, to avoid damage from early-season insect pests. How can we mesh climate action with pest management and get everyone on board with using these practices?
