I went to a conference last week and learned some exciting news for Master Food Preservers. Orange County is starting a new MFP program and scheduled their first training class for February 2011! Alameda County is considering starting a program, too. Since the UC is not beginning any new programs, both MFP groups will be part of their county’s Master Gardener programs.
It’s exciting to see that the interest in food preservation is bringing life to the program in new counties with creative solutions to make them happen. We can dream big about more and more counties resurrecting their MFP programs. Hey ... someday maybe we could host a statewide Master Food Preserver Conference!
