My neighbor has several passion vines and I have one, so we have lots of gulf fritillary around this year. There are always 3 and usually even more in my garden visiting flowers. They are definitely abundant at my home thanks to run-amok passion vines.

Hi,
I just found out the butterflies on my passionflower is the Gulf Fritillary!!! I'm in Elk Grove, CA just south of Sacramento. Great to see this resource available too! Thanks!!

I only learned of the gulf fritillary after I planted 2 established passion vines in October 2021. The caterpillar only appears on our vine with ornamental fruit. They are back in full force again (Nov. 2022). We look forward to enjoying another year full of butterflies in our backyard.
