It is not a weed.... it is a native California plant.

Garett - true, horseweed is native to North America. Being native does not prelude a plant from also being "weedy". Horseweed is an early succession (ruderal) species that can quickly invade disturbed areas. It can produce a tremendous amount of seed, dominate plant communities, and compete with crop and landscape plants for resources. However, whether something is defined as a weed or not is, to a large extent, in the eye of the beholder. Have fun. Brad
