I live in Stockton and found one on my fence. I thought it was beautiful so I took a picture day before yesterday. I checked the next day but it was gone. Had to do a double-take because it looked so much like a leaf.

My wife and I found one in our garden grape. Very interesting and can't wait until it turns into a moth. We live in Stockton as well.

Hi, my nephew and I found one of these while weeding a petunia flower bed in my grandfather's garden. We live in Regina, Saskatchewan up in Canada. We had never seen such a wonderful looking moth so I thought I’d look it up. Is it common to find this type of moth here where I live?

I found one of these caterpillars on my grape vine in San Luis Obispo. I recognized it as a hornworm, but I was familiar only with tomato hornworms. This one is different because 1) it's fairly small (about 2"); 2) it's pink; and 3) it has no horn. Everything I looked up kept finding tomato hornworms or tobacco hornworms, which feed on tomato leaves, tobacco, eggplant, jimson... Nothing about grapes. And none of those other plants are nearby. So I was pleased to finally find the MSU page on them, then this one. However, while tomato hornworms are considered an agricultural pest and we're strongly advised not to release them into the wild, it seems as though these grape hornworms are considerably less problematic -- I don't see similar warnings about controlling them. So I'm considering putting it back out there. I was sad to find those giant "hummingbird moths" were the destructive hornworms, so I'd like to let this complete its cycle, if it's not totally taboo.

I have one on my front screen door here in Colorado Springs. Over 2" long and 1/2" thick. Looks like a dried, curled-up leaf. Scary size, but beautiful moth.

I found a dead one on our porch a few years back. We are located in the foothills of California. I still have the specimen. I can't see any pink, but I'm pretty sure it's the same species shown in this article. It was so beautiful, I had to save it.

We live in Las Vegas and saw one yesterday hanging out on our pool equipment cabinet. It was surprising to see one here I didn't even know they lived this far into the desert

I just found the Achemon Spinx in our carport. I live 30 miles north of Sacramento CA. I have never seen one before. The rust color and the futuristic geometric wing shap is striking.

Found the caterpillar July 9 eating grape leaves. It was so big. I put it in a container with some grape leaves. It soon turned into a cocoon. It is now an awesome beautiful moth. I live up in the Auburn/Newcastle area.

Found an Achemon Sphinx on my cedar wood gate this morning in Casper WY. It is so well camouflaged that it could have been easy to miss.

One of these beautiful moths landed on my leg here in Reno NV.I have never seen a moth like this one in all of my 60 years that I've been on this earth! And probably won't see another one in this lifetime as they are a rare moth to find and see up close. It was so impressively cool to see! It looks so much cooler in real life!
