File Information | A field study was conducted to evaluate the potential of registered herbicides and one unregistered herbicide (sulfentrazone - Zeus) to control field bindweed without significant injury to tomatoes. The herbicides tested suppressed field bindweed growth, but none of the herbicides provided complete control. We found that Treflan was the most effective preemergence treatments for suppressing established field bindweed, and also postemergence treatment with Matrix or Shark improved control in most instances. Future studies will concentrate on PRE combinations of Treflan + other PRE herbicides. |
