Directors Wanted
Last year a group of individuals from the 4-H program and the community called the 4-H Futures Task Force examined ideas that would help us improve and grow the San Diego County 4-H Program. It was determined that a new administrative structure was needed. San Diego County 4-H Leaders Council will transition into the San Diego County 4-H Management Board starting in 2015. The Volunteer Management Organization will be built on the following:
- Volunteers have both the responsibility and authority to serve as middle managers in leading the 4-H organization and programs.
- Leadership positions are clearly defined with a specific duration and duties.
- Directors are appointed rather than elected.
- The board oversees the entire San Diego County 4-H Youth Development Program.
- Everyone –adults and older youth, current or new volunteers, parents and community members are invited to apply.
- The board will meet quarterly to conduct business.
