FARMING 101 - Farming Skills for the Next Generation
Welcome to the UCCE FARMING 101 site
In early 2016, UCCE Sonoma took on an aspect of Marin Organic's good works - the very popular "FARMING 101" program. These workshops are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Experienced farmers, ranchers, and business specialists share a broad range of practical skills that aspiring/beginning/new farmers and ranchers need to know. Individual access to experienced farmers will build on that foundation. UCCE Sonoma and Marin's wide range of agriculturalists will conduct workshops, and those with the knowledge and interest will also mentor the next generation in need of that support.
Sonoma and Marin counties are home to some of the world’s most important pioneers of the ecological movement. Today many of these pioneering farmers are looking ahead to the next stage of their lives, and are thinking about the farmers who will take their places.
Farm visits may be scheduled to ensure less experienced farmers receive important insight into ecological methods.
