4-H Round Up & BBQ 5-9-2015

Bring your family to this fun event. Public is welcome and admission is free.

This event is designed to give 4-H youth members the opportunity to practice showing their animals. Attendance is mandatory for 4-H members if they are planning to show at the fair! The Public is invited to come see 4-H showcase their projects. This is a great way for new prospective members looking for information about our 4-H program.

  • Time: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
  • Location: El Dorado County Fairgrounds. Pavilion area and Marshall Building.

LAC is once again having Bridges BBQ Rents provide Tri Tip and Hot Dog lunches (includes chips and a water). Pre-sale tickets can be purchased from any Livestock Resource Leader or send a check (made out to EDC 4-H) to the 4-H office (311 Fair Lane, Placerville, CA 95667) and your ticket will be at will call the day of the event. Or you can purchase tickets from the 4-H office. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event, but last year they SOLD OUT.

Projects to see and things to do:

Livestock Learning Activities
Activities that feature 4-H project animals including a practice goat show, lamb showmanship and show practice, rabbit show and costume contest, rabbit agility, alpaca show practice and demonstration, dog handling, steer fitting and grooming, and much more.

Music-Variety Show
This year the Dusty Dividers Cultural Arts project (Ron & Tyla Biale project leaders) are hosting a variety show on the small outdoor stage next to the Chuck Wagon building. Anyone is welcome to participate and present their talents during this 4H event! There will be a sign up sheet, at Round Up beginning at 10am until the Cake Auction begins, to choose a time to perform. Hope to see you there! Any questions, vintagesocialclub@yahoo.com.

Silent auction items due to UCCE office by 5:00 pm, Wednesday May 6, 2015.

The BBQ, Silent Auction and Cake Auction are the major fundraisers for the 4-H Youth Development Program. 4-H helps young people to reach their full potential as competent, confident, leaders of character who contribute and are connected to their communities. Funds raised will be used for scholarships, 4-H Summer Camp and volunteer training.
