2012 EIPD Strategic Initiative Conference
April 25-26, 2012
UC Davis Conference Center
The Role of ANR in Building Partnerships, Solving Problems and Informing Policy
Thank you for joining us for the first conference of The Endemic and Invasive Pests and Diseases Strategic Initiative (EIPD). ANR participants and speakers discussed how ANR can respond to emerging pest and disease problems by building partnerships, solving problems and informing policy.
The conference brought together UC ANR faculty, Specialists and CE Advisors to collaborate on research and extension projects, to support program teams and workgroups, to provide a forum for discussing new specialist and advisor positions, and to provide training on policy briefs and outreach programs.
The EIPD SI conference was being held in conjunction with a separate, but related April 24 conference, “Educating Society About the Threat of New Invasive Species to California’s Plant Ecosystems” This conference focused on the best ways to educate the general public about the threat of invasive species. It brought together a wide audience, including biologists, social scientists and communications experts.
ANR Program Teams (PTs) and workgroups (WGs) also met during the April 25-26 conference. Please contact the leaders for more information.
