Qualtrics survey software available for ANR staff and academics

ANR is providing Qualtrics online survey software to ANR staff and academics at no cost this year as a pilot project.

Agricultural Experiment Station faculty who are affiliated with UC ANR will be eligible for one Qualtrics account through ANR, however the Division will not be able to provide licenses to the staff or students of AES faculty.

This is not a replacement for the ANR Portal survey tool, and the Qualtrics account does not currently allow for workshop payment processing. Suggested uses for Qualtrics include workshop evaluations, needs assessments and data collection. Program Planning and Evaluation will manage ANR's license during this pilot year and Qualtrics will provide training and technical support.

ANR staff and faculty can complete this survey to receive a Qualtrics account.

For more information, contact Kit Alviz, program policy analyst in Program Planning and Evaluation, at kit.alviz@ucop.edu or (510) 987-0027.

ANR provides ESRI software and licenses to staff and academics

ANR is providing ESRI software and licenses to ANR staff and academics at no cost in the coming year. Agricultural Experiment Station faculty who are affiliated with ANR are also eligible for one ESRI license through ANR, but students and staff of AES faculty are not eligible for the software and licenses; they will need to go through software.ucdavis.edu to access these tools.

UC ANR staff and faculty can download the ArcGIS 10.3 software (released December 2014) and request a license by completing an online survey (http://ucanr.edu/u.cfm?id=109). For details about ArcGIS 10.3, go to http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/new.

If you have any questions about this offer, contact Shane Feirer at (707) 744-1424 x114 or stfeirer@ucanr.edu.

ESRI licenses and software offered free to ANR members

ANR members no longer need to pay for an ESRI license or software from a campus. ANR is now providing them at no cost to employees through the UC Informatics & Geographic Information Systems Statewide Program (UC IGIS).

To purchase a new or renewed ESRI license/software, simply visit http://ucanr.edu/sites/IGIS/ESRI_Software and complete the brief survey there. UC ANR staff will then email you a license file so you can enable your new software (including GIS tools, tutorials and data).

You might still receive an email from a UC campus asking if you will be purchasing a new license or software from them this year. You may disregard the request.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact UC IGIS staff at igis@ucanr.edu.
