Strategic Vision

The ANR Strategic Planning Steering Committee, co-chaired by Vice President Dooley and Regent Fred Ruiz, endorsed the final ANR Strategic Vision 2025. The final version reflects the input from ANR members and external stakeholders gathered during the past few months.

The next steps will be the development of an implementation plan for ANR to make this vision a reality. The ANR Statewide Conference, April 27-30, will provide an initial opportunity for members of the ANR community to begin this process. Ideas for implementation will come out of small group sessions at the conference. Following the conference, additional opportunities will be identified for input from internal and external stakeholders to contribute to the implementation plan.

This vision statement will guide ANR in developing research, education and service programs to meet the needs of California for the next 15 to 20 years.

ANR envisions a thriving California in 2025 where healthy people and communities, healthy food systems, and healthy environments are strengthened by a close partnership between the University of California and its research and extension programs and the people of the state. The University remains connected and committed to the people of California, who enjoy a high quality of life, a healthy environment, and economic success in a global economy.
