UC ANR, Development Services is seeking to reinvigorate advancement and major gift operations. These critical positions will play a large part in meeting ANR’s strategic goals and will have a major impact on the overall success of the organization.

Executive Director, Development Services (Oakland)

The Executive Director of Development Services is responsible for determining overall strategic decisions in the designing, developing, implementing and administering fundraising and major gift operations for the Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources. 

With an annual operating budget of a $177 million, the Division comprises 57 County Cooperative Extension Offices, 9 Research and Extension Centers and 6 statewide programs. Responsibilities include the development and implementation of a strategic plan to raise private funds in support of the Division's mission; and oversight of the fundraising activities of the unit's professional staff.

Determines objectives and directs the development programs including prospect identification through research, marketing and cultivation, annual fund campaigns, major gift solicitations of individuals, corporations, foundations, and other non-profit entities, donor acknowledgment, recognition and stewardship, endowed fund stewardship, events and advancement communications. 

The Executive Director manages a complex fundraising program and targets major donors, industry-partners and gifts in the $1M range.

Director, Major Gifts (Davis)

Manages a comprehensive fundraising program within the Development Services Unit. Provides oversight for staff comprised of major gift officers. Coordinates the efforts of administrative support staff in collaboration with other unit managers. Selects, trains, mentors, guides and directs subordinate staff and as required, takes corrective action. Conceives, creates, develops, implements and manages fundraising programs and strategies to successfully meet predetermined goals and objectives, and ensures that predetermined fundraising goals are met. Conducts and participates in long and short-range strategic planning. Oversees and manages the identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors and donor prospects and supports senior leadership in a variety of fundraising activities. Responsibility for a major gift portfolio which includes the Vice President’s key prospects.

Major Gift Officers (3 openings, Davis) POST CLOSES 6/30/2017!

Using advanced fundraising concepts, plans, organizes, and directs complex large-scale fundraising campaigns which include multiple components. Results have major impact on overall program goals and assignments and are typically at the major gifts level, including managing portfolios of donors capable of giving $50K or more. May oversee work of professional and/or subordinate staff. Position is expected to raise gift dollar amounts as established by Executive Director, Development Services and UC ANR leadership in keeping with the Division’s Strategic Plan.

Development Associate (Oakland)

Implements specific plans for fundraising database input and reporting to assist in the success of fundraising projects; or may plan, administer, and implement an established fundraising project or program of limited scope and complexity. Provides basic analysis of program trends and results; assists in developing material for appeals and newsletters.
