Public Education Classes
Master Gardeners offer free classes most Saturdays of the year. No advance registration is needed in most cases.

5/5 Making Worms Work for You Instructors: MJ Campbell, G Fulbeck, C Young
Learn how worms can breakdown kitchen waste to make worm compost, one of the best organic fertilizers possible. Also covered will be the types of worms needed, how to harvest the compost, and how to set up a worm bin.

It appears living in the foothills, with its variable elevations and temperatures, has created a new variety of houseplants – those that have been seasonally relocated into the house. In addition, we have plants from other regions that attract us with their tropical beauty. Caring for plants no longer in their natural habitat is a challenge. Join us to discuss how to meet these challenges and benefit by the beautification of our homes.

El Dorado County is graced with handsome and enduring California Oaks. New construction, irrigated lawns, and cultivated land can endanger them. Oaks need proper care to thrive. Learn various methods to maintain and protect these wonderful trees!
