Community Plant Give and Take Events

Master Gardeners volunteer at several Plant Give and Take events in Fresno and nearby Counties.  In 1968, Garden Give and Take was a community service event hosted two times each year by the Fresno County Women's Chamber of Commerce.  It was later discontinued, but was the precursor to what has become a popular venue staged at different locations each spring and fall, sponsored by Community Volunteers Central Valley.

How does a Plant Give and Take work?  Plants of all types including bulbs, cuttings and seeds are donated by home gardeners like yourself.  Bring your donation of plants in bags, boxes, wrapped in newsprint, etc.  Plants do not need to be potted in a container. UCCE Master Gardeners and other volunteers help identify unknown plants.

Having a plant to share is not a prerequisite to participation.  There is no admission fee and anyone can take plants FREE.

Contact Margie Reisz to find out how you can help.
