    Sun: Full sun to light shade





    Water: Regular water in summer; allow to dry between watering; none to light water in winter months

    Soil:  Any soil with good drainage

    Habit and form:  Columnar cactus forming masses of columns with golden spines, up to 3 feet tall, stems 2 1/2 inches in diameter

    Flower type:  Many-petaled showy flowers

    Flower color & bloom season: Salmon-pink flowers in spring and summer, 1 to 2 inches in length, 2 inches in diameter.  Mature plants bloom repetitively. The flowers are followed by green fruit, about 1/2 inch long

    Maintenance tips: Fertilize monthly in spring and summer.  Sensitive to mealy bugs along spines
