We’re glad you’re interested in 4-H.  Millions of youth participate in the 4-H Program nationwide.  That’s a lot of people, but there’s always room for more.  Whether you live in a city, small town, or farm - in Placer or Nevada County - 4-H has something for you!

What do 4-H Members Do?

Every 4-H member participates in one or more projects that use information and ideas from the University of California.  In a project you’ll learn about new and interesting things.

For example, you can learn about photography, computers, cooking, auto mechanics, raising an animal, dancing, public speaking, our community service.  You can do a project by yourself or you can be part of a group project with your friends and family.

There’s almost no limit to the kinds of things you can do with 4-H.  You choose the project, or with the help of the 4-H staff or a 4-H leader, you can make up your own project activity.

Through community, county and statewide events, you will meet other members.  4-H events include camping, public speaking, presentations, fairs, and summer camp.
