Program Teams to meet February 7 - 8, 2012

Program teams affiliated with the Healthy Families and Communities strategic initiative met at the Rec Pool Lodge at UC Davis Feb. 7 – 8, 2012. Over 60 UC academics participated in this meeting.

Participating program teams included:

• Healthy Behaviors for Preventing Childhood Obesity
• Youth Science Literacy in Nutrition, Agriculture and Natural Resources
• Youth Development
• California Communities

This meeting offered opportunity for discussion of cross-cutting issues and concerns, with the bulk of time being spent in individual program team and/or workgroup meetings.

Among the topics that were discussed are collaborative work on existing or new competitive grant proposals, proposals for new ANR academic positions, and developing the teams as ongoing “communities of practice” to advance strategic initiative priorities. These program teams are still in a formative stage and we welcomed the participation of a wide spectrum of ANR personnel.
