What is Sitebuilder 3.0?

Site Builder 3.0 is a web content management system created for use by anyone in University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources to create and maintain a web site. This Help site is dedicated to helping you find your way through it.

If you are ANR personnel, you can contact us directly at Communication Services and Information Technology for advice on how to use Site Builder 3.0 or to suggest additions or changes to this Help site. Non-ANR personnel should contact their local coordinator or site administrator for assistance.

  • Site Builder - Deleted Assets and Pages CHANGES!

    When an administrator deletes a page or asset from a Web site, it doesn't actually delete. Site Builder 3.0 will store your deleted pages and assets automatically for 90 days. After that, these items are removed permanently.

    Automatic Deletion of Removed Pages and Assets

    During the week of May 6th, 2024, Site Builder will have the Automatic Permanent Deletion of Removed Pages and Assets functionality turned on. It will delete this old removed content from the Site Builder database after it has been 90 days.

    You can see what Pages and Assets have been removed by navigating to the Site Builder Dashboard for your site. In the left hand navigation at the bottom are links for Removed Pages, and Removed Assets.

    Please look through the Removed Pages and Assets and backup any content that you might think is important and does not exist elsewhere.

  • UC ANR Data Center cutover changed to Dec. 9

    Based on feedback from various stakeholders regarding our Data Center move cutover activities, ANR leaders have approved adjusting the start time to accommodate critical deadlines. Originally scheduled for Friday, Dec 8, at 5 p.m., the new start time is now set for Saturday, Dec 9, at 6 a.m.

    The new cutover schedule is from Saturday, Dec 9, from 6 a.m. to Monday, Dec 11, concluding at 7 p.m.

    Various web-based services, such as UC ANR websites, UC ANR Portal, VMS and the survey tool, will be unavailable during the cutover. However, hosted separately, Outlook email, Zoom, and project board will operate without interruption.

    The IT team will provide regular updates on the progress via email throughout the cutover.

  • Clean Up the Clutter of Your Site Builder Site

    IWP is coming and everyone with a Site Builder website can help us out by getting rid of unused or deactivated pages and assets, deleted pages, and unused files and images. There is a significant overhead for the servers to keep track of the content and assets. All of these items take up space on the servers.

    On average all Site Builder sites have 1/3 of the content and assets not being used.  One change can cause the site to Republish All Text Assets. When this happens on a large site, the server can slow down as it re-inventories all of your content. It can cause the database to be overwhelmed, and crash the server. Removing all the unused stuff can boost the speed of the server and site and help it run more efficiently.  This is why it's important to keep your Site Builder sites maintained by doing house keeping on regular basis.

  • New Zoom Rooms!

    UC ANR has new Zoom Rooms with new monitors, speakers, cameras and Zoom Room Controllers (Tablets).

     You can find the Zoom Rooms at the UC ANR building on 2nd Street in Davis.

    Zoom Rooms:

    3. Colorado - Quiet Room
    4. Mojave - Quiet Room
    5. Coast Room - Downstairs

    10. Rm 151 Quiet Room

    The Zoom Rooms are easy to use, and quality of sound and video are outstanding.
