- Deciduous with egg shaped, softly scalloped leaves
- Turns yellow in fall
- Smooth gray warty bark
- Pea sized red fruit
- Tree may grow to between 40 to 65 feet tall
- Growth Rate is about 25 inches a year
- Tree longevity is greater than 150 years
