 Celtis sinensis  (SEL-tis  si-NEN-sis) 

  • Native to East Asia
  • Deciduous with egg shaped, softly scalloped leaves
  • Turns yellow in fall
  • Smooth gray warty bark
  • Pea sized red fruit
  • Tree may grow to between 40 to 65 feet tall
  • Growth Rate is about 25 inches a year
  • Tree longevity is greater than 150 years
