Replanting after the Trees Die - Train the Trainer Workshop for Master Gardeners


This workshop is designed to give UCCE Master Gardener volunteers an in depth training on the ongoing tree mortality in the Sierra Nevada.  The training will provide information and resources to help Master Gardeners answer questions from the public about replanting after tree mortality. In addition, attendees will receive resource materials and PowerPoint presentation that can be customized and used for teaching public education classes on this important issue.

Although this workshop is targeting UCCE Master Gardener volunteers, anyone is welcome to register. This workshop will be valuable to county and local jurisdiction staff, homeowners association representatives, NGO’s, state and federal agencies, and anyone interested in learning more about this important topic.

This training is targeting Mater Gardener volunteers across the 10 county region including; Nevada, Placer, El Dorado, Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Mariposa, Merced, Madera, and Fresno counties.

Topics will include: forest ecology following heavy tree mortality, reforestation basics, preparing the ground for planting, selection of nursery stock, treating competing vegetation, climate change, and land owner assistance programs currently available.  Core more information see our agenda.
