Enjoy your chance to watch the best of local sheepdogs at work as they take the Hopland Research and Extension Center flock through our course. Both time and obedience play a part as competitors are penalized if a sheep strays from the prescribed course. This is more difficult than it sounds and takes much training for both handler and dog!

Slam Dunk pizza will provide hot drinks, bagels, pizza and other snacks during the public hours.
Directions: From downtown Hopland (intersection of Highways 101 and 175), take Highway 175 east toward Lakeport. Cross the Russian River and at the traffic circle exit onto Old River Road (also marked "Road 201"). Next, turn right onto University Road (there is a UC sign at the intersection). The Sheepdog Trials will be sign posted from this point.
