On behalf of University of California's Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources, I am delighted to welcome you to California for the 2015 National Extension and Research Administrative Officers' Conference. The theme for this year's conference is Golden Opportunities.

As California’s land-grant research university, UC, in 1914, was given the task of building the Extension system that the Smith-Lever Act envisioned would propel U.S. agriculture into the modern era. The University of California embraced that vision with a prophetic belief that scientific knowledge could, indeed, transform California into the world’s most successful agricultural producer. The University of California's Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources is the bridge between local issues and the power of UC Research. ANR's advisors, specialists and faculty bring practical, science-based answers to Californians.

While we value and celebrate our past, we look forward to the next 100 years and the opportunities that lie ahead. We appreciate the connections and collaborations that are made and enhanced by all who participate in NERAOC.
