Home gardeners often encounter unwanted pests, insects or weeds, in their lawn or garden. Integrated Pest Management or IPM is a practice you can use to solve most garden pest problems while minimizing risks to people, pets and the environment. IPM programs are based on preventing pest damage or keeping pests at tolerable levels by using knowledge of the pests and what encourages or discourages them in the garden. If you are interested in up-to-date information on how to safely and effectively handle garden pests, plan on attending the Public Education class, “Solving Garden Pest Problems with Integrated Pest Management (IPM)” provided by the UCCE Master Gardeners of Amador County on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 9am-Noon. Pest identification and appropriate biological, cultural and chemical controls for the home gardener will be covered. Hand-outs will be provided.
This class is free and open to the public. No reservations are required. Classes are held in the GSA building at 12200-B Airport Rd, Jackson.
