Vermicomposting
Don't have room for a traditional composting system? Do you have a small yard, or do you grow in containers and require only small amounts of compost? Then come learn about Vermicomposting--composting using worms. Surprisingly easy, vermicomposting produces amazingly rich compost to feed your soil and plants within a very small amount of space. Join UC Master Gardeners Patrizia Guccione & Alice Burns as they give you the tools to become a beginning worm composter..
Our Garden is a public demonstration garden of the UC Master Gardener Program of Contra Costa County, located in Walnut Creek at the corner of North Wiget Lane and Shadelands Drive, just north of Ygnacio Valley Road. From April through October, weekly speakers present a variety of information on edibles gardening and home gardening in general.
UC Master Gardeners of Contra Costa maintain the garden and interface with the general public. We encourage you to bring in your home and garden questions and talk with a UC Master Gardener at the Ask a Master Gardener Table (9 am to Noon)!
