Join us at the UC Davis campus to connect with other beginning farmers and learn from our speakers! This workshop is $10 for the day with light refreshments provided. Please note that you will have to pay to park on campus, so we strongly recommend carpooling, biking, or taking the bus if possible!
Presentations:
Overview of Pastured Poultry Production:
This talk will go over the basics of brooding, husbandry, and nutrition for pastured poultry.
Management and Housing:
This talk will focus on management of pastured poultry flocks as well as design and material considerations for coops for small flocks raised in a free-range or pastured poultry environment.
Food Safety:
This talk will discuss food safety with regards to pastured poultry production, including Salmonella control and appropriate regulations.
