The Human Resources Manager acts as a recognized functional expert who regularly leads staff human resources, employee and labor relations and adjacent projects of criticality to UCANR. This position reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources and is responsible for the implementation and oversight of Staff Human Resources, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Leave Management, Disability Management and Wellness functions for UCANR.
The UC ANR Staff Human Resources provides leadership and direction, consulting, and coordination to all of UC ANR, in the areas of staff classification, compensation, recruitment, employment, employee and labor relations, leaves, performance management, staff employee development, and interpretation of UC system-wide personnel policies and collective bargaining agreements, and training.
Utilizes comprehensive and in-depth employee relations expertise to provide guidance and recommendations regarding strategic direction for the organization. Works on employee relations matters that are the most diverse and complex in scope and where analysis of data and situations requires evaluation of many factors and implications with broad impact on the organization. Develops internal and external contacts often pertaining to organization-wide plans and objectives. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and functions as a lead with other employee and labor relations professionals. Is considered a subject matter expert of the organization.
